T. Edwin Doss, a part-time resident at Lake Anna and a vacation rental owner, is an award-winning singer/songwriter with over 50 years of music experience. He is Worship/Praise Team Leader at Good Hope Baptist Church in Spotsylvania, VA.
Tom is a member of the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA), Songwriters Association of Washington (SAW), and Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI). His current two albums are licensed through Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI).
Tom has over 300 original songs in his song catalog, has co-written in the past with Merle Kilgore, and opened for Hank Williams, Jr., Johnny Paycheck, and Townes Van Zandt. He continues to write songs that can be classified as Country, Christian/Inspirational, Americana, and Folk.
Tom’s awards include, but are not limited to, the Silver Award in the Country/Bluegrass category of the 27th Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest for “‘Bama Hayride,” First Place in the Christian/Inspirational category of the 2013 Dallas Songwriter’s Contest for “He Did His Best Work on Wood,” First Place in the Special category of the 15th annual Great American Song Contest for “Gonna Be a Blue Elvis Christmas,” First Place in the Country category of the Dallas Songwriter’s Contest for “My Shine,” Grand Prize in the 2015 Dallas Songwriter’s Contest for “Jesse Brown,” First Place in the Lyric category of the 18th annual Great American Song Contest for “Kissed an Angel Carved in Stone,” and most recently, a finalist in the 21st annual Great American Song Contest for “Radio Flyer” in the Country category and “Way Back When” in the Lyric Writing category.
